I just copied and pasted a piece of text from an online version of Office to a WordPress post. While hitting Cmd+V on my keyboard I had a flashback to the earliest blogging days, when this was an absolute no go because of all the mark-up that would accompany the copied text and screwed up your website’s lay-out. Today Cmd+V just works no matter what tool you use to write your text. A good thing, because it used to be a pain in the ass back then to copy and paste.
Ironically, I ran into a problem with pasting formatted text on my iPad into a mail message (which is often how I make blog posts these days). It turns out that iOS has no native “paste as plain text” feature, do I had to make a Shortcut to do this.
Good to know as I’m an iPad user again since a few weeks. Thumbs down for Apple on this one. I do blog from my phone at times, but apparently never needed to paste something.
Haha yeah. I remember this too. The only reason to keep Notepad around. It removed any formatting just fine 😀
