I haven’t used my SX-70 for a long time, but I will not get rid of it. It reminds me of all the precious moments I spent with my friend Pedro who gave this camera to me. It reminds me of the town I used to live in, where a group of former employees gave themselves the impossible task to revive the polaroid experience. At one point in time I will buy a new package of film so Daughter can witness the magic moment when a picture appears on a piece of paper. It is not quite the same as watching your mum develop a film in a dark room, but it is as close as I can get to giving Daughter that magical experience. Until then my SX-70 sits safely on my bookshelf.
