A family member gifted me two tickets to a concert for my birthday. It was the opening concert of the September Me festival in my home town. The Regazze string quartet performed new music written by Caroline Shaw. It was amazing.
Shaw wasn’t able to travel to The Netherlands for this performance, but the opening of the night was a recording of her singing a song written for this festival. Her voice is so clear. I’ve fallen in love with it. I can’t point you to recordings of what I heard last night. They don’t exist yet. To get an idea of her work, you can watch this performance of the song And So. Perhaps you’ll fall in love too.
