As Daughter is fascinated with everything associated with princesses and queens, I thought it would be a great idea to take her to the royal treasures inside Rosenborg castle. Based on the Danish rain radar we took the risk of biking downtown. Just as we parked our bikes and entered the king’s garden for a coffee it started to rain.
Nevertheless, we sat outside for two coffees at Hercules pavilion to wait for the rain (and thunder) to pass, only to discover that there were no tickets available until late in the afternoon. We booked tickets for tomorrow morning instead and played in the park for a bit, had Italian lunch and walked to Illum Bolighus to see beautiful things too expensive to buy, before heading back to our rental home.
As it turns out, DMI rain radar is highly unreliable for deciding to bike or not. Five minutes on our way back we were almost literally blown off the street and had to find shelter between two apartment blocks for a few minutes.
The strong wind resulted in a quick exit of the shower and we continued our route. We are now properly baptised as Danish cyclists. And then to think we debated taking our coats when we left this morning.
